Quilted Qualms

With the new year just hours away, a little uneasiness has set in about what to expect. 2013 has been exceptionally good to me, and when things are that good you can only imagine a descent from there, right? Ack, well hopefully it's not the case, and hopefully 2014 will be just as good, and I plan to start it in a look I won't regret, like the now-in quilted skirts!

Sequin Queen of 2K14

The question of the hour is easily: What am I going to wear for new years? Well, ring in the new year with sequins! They glimmer and will bedazzle the pants off anyone you might want to impress. With so many shades this season, there's a little sequin out there for everybody. Be the Sequin Queen/King that you truly are at heart!

And don't fret, the sequins don't stop when the drinks do!

Mad for Plaid

With nice weather being a rarity during the winter, I couldn't not take advantage of the unusually sunny afternoon to do a little shopping in the city. I can tell that the need for plaid will be mental this spring, so I figured I'd start early with my little obsession. I teamed my new skirt, with a simple black t-shirt stolen from my older brother, my leather jacket, my go-to mulberry bag and some chucks for a causal schoolgirl look!

Savvy Seasonal Shopper

Well Christmas has come and gone, and the gifts this year have been epic! (But... that doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to a little extra with that christmas money you got!)

Shop some of my favorites from the Topshop & Zara sales:

Tis the season to shop and spend all you money because this week is filled with sales galore! I dragged myself out to meet up with a friend and shopped a bit at my favorite stores!

First stop was Brandy Melville, who wasn't actually having a sale but I've been dying for this skirt, so waalah!

Off to Zara! I've needed this crop top for the longest, and I was bummed to see it sell out online, but behold I got my hands on it!

KILLER SKIRT! SO HAPPY I FINALLY BOUGHT IT (AND ON SALE!) Can't wait to post some outfits with it!

Holiday Highlights (Merry Christmas!)

I can easily say this was one of my favorite Christmases by far! I spent the day with family eating, sharing (embarrassing) childhood stories, opening presents, and taking (not so short) naps!

As far as presents go, some of my favorites from the day are my Comme Des Garcons Converse, my Chanel Espadrilles, my leather jacket and my Naked3 Palette!

I got to spend time with my nephew who i don't see nearly enough while I'm at home too, and that was great because he's the cutest thing that has ever existed, like EVER!

All in all, A++ Christmas with lots of great memories! Now to sleep and cry over all the sales starting tomorrow!

TINSELTOWN

As a way to get everyone into the holiday-gift-giving spirit Refinery29 had a mini pop up shop called Tinsel Town, which by far was the cutest thing I've ever seen, as far as pop up stores went. There were booths set up all along the space and you bet I stopped at every single one.

Erica Weiner's jewelry caught my eyes from the start! Cute pendants, and intricate earrings everywhere. Definitely check out their NY and Brooklyn locations, or visit www.ericaweiner.com

I was obsessed with this next booth, and probably spent a lot of time at it. I immediate fell in love with the necklace that consisted of a bunch of rings. I'm dying to go back and purchase it.

Next stop was Lady Grey Jewelry, who had a lot of interesting pieces, with something for everyone. Their bracelets and rings we're really breathtaking!

Don't get me started on the sweets they had. If you're in the city and looking for French made macaroons with American flavors, then look no more, Dana's Bakery is here for you.

I really can't get over the set up, they really used the small space to make it homey, even providing a space for people to lounge about if they felt ever so inclined to.

I'm a big fan of the band Drowners, and former model, and member of the band Matt Hitt was DJing at the shop, so of course I went to say hello. He's so lovely, and really the entire band is, they let me snap photos of them taking their 'band christmas card photo' which you can see some below!

I hung around a bit chatting with him and his friends before I took a photo of his outfit because they're always so stellar! The entire group of them are a complete laugh. Then of course we took a glorious selfie for the road!

In the end, it was a very cute pop up shop full of very cute things and people (with top notch doughnuts from the Doughnuttery) and I had a blast while I was in.
