Summers End

Summers dead. At least for me. I left NYC yesterday morning and i'm back upstate for a couple months. But i'm kinda glad about it... need some structure back in my life that didn't involve waking up in friends beds every other day. One of my favorite pieces I bought this summer was this Reformation bodysuit, so I knew I had to post an outfit featuring it! It's the loveliest red-orange color, a perfect summer to fall transition shade, and it goes with everything in my closet surprisingly.

This post is also ft. Christina again (we didn't plan matching outfits, swearrr) and shot by the lovely Kenny again as well.

August Blues

Alas, August is half way over already, and i'm totally sad about it. Loads of friends are jetting off for their final weeks of vacation, and I'm very much still here in the city heat. I may not be finding myself in some tropical resort, but I definitely spent the day exploring the aesthetic gem of the city that is Roosevelt Island.
Had the wicked pleasure of being photographed by the ultimate MVP @LaidBackKenny alongside one of my best friends, Christina.
After the shoot, I did a bit of shopping damage (whoops!¡) before we headed to Baby's All Right to catch a last minute set by Mothxr.

Back to Business

With the summer comes lots of promises of stuff that we say we'll do, but never actually get around to... like reading that new book, or watching all 9 seasons of some show, or updating your blog. ¡yikes! However, now that works come to an end and I've just finished the annual week-long roadtrip with my best friends, it's probably best that I return to this realm of my life.

The humid weather in NYC calls for nothing but drapey clothing to keep you cool in the far-and-few-inbetween breeze.

Brooklyn Blues

Shot this outfit last week, while I was back in Brooklyn. It was a super comfortable way to stay chic yet warm in the still chilly early-spring-weather (not to mention it rained for the remainder of this day). Ended up wearing this look to see the lads (Catfish & The Bottlemen) play at the Brooklyn Knitting Factory. Also think I'm in need of new black booties, I've worn these pair to death and back, I'm afraid!!

Back in NYC for the week, and the weathers been nothing short of wonderful, after such a long, dreary winter! The sun was out and the temps hit the high 60s, so my friend Christina and I went out for a yum brunch at Two Hands in the Bowery neighborhood, where I've spent a lot of time over the past couple days.

Got to break out my Saint Laurent-esque kimono for this look. So pumped about it!

NYE | Hello 2015

I know I'm about 5 days behind, but I've been so busy that I haven't had a moment to update. I'm about a week into my mini vacation around England and it's probably been one of the best weeks of my life. Every day has been a bit of an adventure, and I'll be sure to post photos about it when I'm back home.

Crimbo

It's been a long while since I've last posted, due to some camera issues and a lack of time. Got some camera goodies for the holiday however, and I figured, what better way to get back into the groove of things than to take some new Christmas clothes out for a mini ootd shoot.

#GirlsOnlyNYC

Flashback to August: Curator, Antonia Marsh, opened her studio space in Bushwick up to the public, to share art from the residency program she started as a way to for female artist in Brooklyn to support one another. The program-- Girls Only NYC-- launched this past spring, but has spread outside of NYC and now can be heard about in both London and Paris.

On the last day of the NYC studio showing, I got to pop in with a roll of film, and snap some shots of the pieces and work that filled the gallery. From Kate Falcone to Elbe Koe, there was artist whose work fit every taste. All the art was incredible, and now I need to get my hands on a Girls Only shirt.

There's something quite beautiful to be said about just the fact that this collective was created. Girls helping, supporting, and bringing up each other in regards to their passions. Something, I think, that is easily put on the back burner when we're all trying to make it in this competitive, male dominated society.
