If you follow me on tumblr, then you probably know that one of my best friends has recently spent the week in NYC with me, before returning home, across the country. On her final day here the weather was nice enough to show her the iconic Central Park; perfect location to snap some photos as well.

Gearing for Governors

With Governors Ball a short 14 days away, there's no time like now to be finalizing outfit choices.
Despite the festival vibes, I'm loving the neutral tones that I try to stick to year round. Who needs a reason to wear black anyway?

If you're aiming to steer away from the typical music festival/Coachella style, then some pieces to get your hands on are body suits, distressed shorts and band tees, docs (you know why if you went last year!) and fanny packs.

If the bohemia-look is your true calling, then fringe satchels, kimonos, head jewelry, gladiator sandals, coin collars, and patterned pom pom shorts are probably the direction you want to go. Accessories are your best friend here.

The best thing about Gov ball is that everyone looks perfectly quiche side by side in their various styles. I myself plan to mix it up over the course of the 3 day festival, all while seeing some of my favorite bands, like The 1975, Vampire Weekend, Drowners, and so many others.

Christina leaving the city called for a day of aimless wandering, looking at street art, and outfit #twinning before a seriously yummy dinner at B Bar & Grill. Finally got around to seeing this Karl and Anna painting by Bradley Theodore and I'm obsessed with it. If you're in the city, I suggest you stop by it before it washes away for good.

Palo Alto'd

When on the go, (especially at really early hours of the morning!) you just don't want to lug around a massive DSLR camera. Thankfully the iphone 5s has superb ootd photo quality. Snapped a few photos of my outfit throughout my busy morning.

Homecoming

Finally back home in NYC and I, of course, spent one of my first days out with Christina, catching up, grabbing lunch, and of course shopping.
